This is a blog about my findings relating to dental, mental, and general physical health over 40 years of research and clinical experience. It is not medical advice and consultation with your physician is advised. This blog does not contitute a doctor/patient relationship. I recommend a radical change in the entire medical system based on a different sequence of treatment that I will explain through the course of the postings.

Calcium/Phosphorous The ratio of these two substances in your blood is critical. The true value is seldom picked up on blood tests. To get the true value you should be tested on a diet free of milk and milk products, sugar, white flour, caffeine, no fruit or fruit juices, no peanuts or honey and after a 12 hour fast. This will give the true ratio. Ideally it should be 2 1/2:1 or for example calcium 10, phosphorous 4. In osteoporosis and periodontal disease the phosphorous is often high relative to calcium ie calcium 9.8, phosphorous 4.o. This situation will give you bone loss and sometimes it appears around your teeth before it is apparent elsewhere. We will discuss how to improve this ratio. Dr.Ray Forbes
